Who is 31st Cares Inc?
Established in 2023, 31st Cares is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization working to address disparities and ensure equitable futures for the East End of Richmond and beyond. We are driven by our guiding principles, working together with our community to provide impactful services and foster lasting change.

At 31st Cares, we offer a variety of impactful programs and services designed to meet the diverse needs of our community. Our core programs are:
Dr. William H. Joyner Memorial Scholarship
- Purpose: Supports students demonstrating academic proficiency, social accountability,and community involvement.
- Honors: The legacy of Dr. William H. Joyner, an esteemed educator and mentor in the
East End. - Inaugural Recipient: Kennedy Stone.
Man Talk RVA Summer Academy
- Purpose: A week-long engagement experience for middle school boys focusing onmentorship, experiential learning, and personal development.
- Components: College visits, leadership development, government engagement, field trips, and discussions.
- Next Session: July 21-25, 2025.
New Initiatives for 2025
- Partnership with RVA Community Fridges – Expanding food accessibility.
- Partnership with FeedMore – Strengthening food security efforts.
- Entrepreneurship Training Program – Supporting small business growth.
